This cruise lives up to its title as it plies through the water for 2.000 kilometres, taking you from Amsterdam on the North Sea through the heart of Europe to Budapest.
Your ship brings you quite soon to the historically important cities of Cologne and Koblenz, after which you continue along the central stretch of the Rhine with its medieval castles, colourful wine-growing regions and the Lorelei rock steeped in legend. Then it’s on to Regensburg via the Rhine-Main-Danube Canal. The Danube then winds its way through the Schloegener loops below Passau, leaving Germany behind, entering Austria and passing through its picturesque Wachau district before reaching Vienna, which for centuries was the royal and imperial base of the Hapsburg dynasty. The final stage of this cruise takes you via Bratislava and its imposing fortified castle to Budapest, the capital of Hungary - by which time you will have seen for yourself more sights than you can imagine still bearing witness to thousands of years of European history.
